What's the difference between water-based and oil-based paint?
Water-based paint (plastic paint) is the one for walls and ceilings: it smells less, dries faster and tools wash out with water. Oil-based paint (enamel) forms a harder film, suited to metal and hard-wearing surfaces; it is thinned and cleaned with thinner.
Which paint should I use on metal gates and railings?
An oil-based enamel: LUXTEK, EMELIA or ECO Tinta Esmalte. Before painting, clean the surface and remove loose rust and grease.
How many coats do I need?
Two coats usually give an even finish. Going from a dark colour to a light one may need a third. Always follow the label.
What sizes are available?
Plastic paints come in 15, 17 and 18 kg buckets. Enamels come in 1, 4 and 15 kg packs.
What's the difference between LUXTEK, EMELIA and ECO?
They are AMAC's three brands, made in the same factory. LUXTEK is the premium line, with washable and super-washable paints. EMELIA is the mid-range line of enamel and plastic paint. ECO is the value line, for large jobs and tight budgets.
What's the difference between Lavável and Super Lavável?
Both are washable water-based acrylics from the LUXTEK line. Super Lavável is the higher-performance one, suited to high-traffic areas and walls that are cleaned often.
Where can I buy AMAC paint?

Can I buy directly from the factory or become a reseller?

Are the colours on screen exact?
Not quite: they depend on your screen. Ask us for the printed colour chart before choosing.

AMAC makes water-based and oil-based paint at its own factory in Viana, Luanda. It was founded in 2021 out of Construa Mais, which has made paint in Angola since 2010, to widen the range and give the market more choice.
